CANARIAS. TURISMO Y FICCIÓN

La fotografía turística siempre ha buscado en el paisaje el escenario ideal preparado para recibir al visitante. Imágenes idealizadas que poco tienen que ver con esta colección realizada íntegramente en Canarias por Jordi Bernadó. 

Este reportaje, que podría catalogarse como documentalista, habla de turismo, pero no de sol y de playas, no aparecen el mar ni los románticos atardeceres. No hay parajes exóticos, más bien llegan a ser ridículos. Paisajes artificiales dentro de paisajes naturales. Paisajes dentro de paisajes. La imagen se convierte en una narración donde cada detalle cuenta y no existe una sola lectura. Produce desorientación y provoca una dislocación de dicotomías: fondo-figura, bello-feo, importante-trivial, espectacular-ridículo, lógico-absurdo.

¿Podría convertirse alguna de estas fotos en postal turística? La riqueza de contenido nos proporciona multiplicidad de mensajes que deberían hacernos pensar.

Tourist photography has always sought in the landscape an ideal setting ready to receive the visitor. Idealised images that have little to do with this collection taken entirely in the Canary Islands by Jordi Bernadó. 

This reportage, which could be classified as documentary, talks about tourism, but not about sun and beaches, neither about the sea nor romantic sunsets. There are no exotic landscapes, rather they become ridiculous. Artificial landscapes within natural landscapes. Landscapes within landscapes. The image becomes a narrative where every detail counts and there is no single reading. It produces disorientation and provokes a dislocation of dichotomies: background-figure, beautiful-ugly, important-trivial, spectacular-ridiculous, logical-absurd.

Could one of these photos become a tourist postcard? The wealth of content provides us with a multiplicity of messages that should make us think.
